ADVANCED GEOCHEMICAL STUDIES PARTNERSHIP ASSOCIATION

INTRODUCTION AND AIMS

The Partnership Association comes from the Collaboration Agreement signed on 28 July 2006 between the Chancellor of the University of Málaga and the President of the Spanish National Research Council. Dated on 28 July 2009, extended the agreement for the next 3 years.

Within the framework of the Partnership Association, the following topics will be investigated:

- Paleoclimatic and paleohidrological researches
- Hydrogeological aquifers functioning researches
- Contamination processes within aquifers studies

In every case, the research will be carried out by geochemical techniques, mainly isotopic methods.

Evaluation and protection of water resources in carbonate aquifers in the Mediterranean basin of western Andalusia, for use in periods of drought. Project P06-RNM-02161 of the Andalusian Regional Government.

Hydrogeology of carbonate aquifers in northern Morocco and southern Spain. Funding agency: Spanish National Research Council (CSIC).

- Hydrogeology of evaporite karst aquifers. Relationship with the genesis, operation and management of Andalusian wetlands and associated saline upwelling. Consejería de Economía, Innovación y Ciencia. Junta de Andalucía. Proyecto de Excelencia RNM-6895. 2013-2017.

- Hydrogeological characterization of wetlands and salt springs associated with evaporite karst aquifers in Andalusia, for proper management of the hydro-bio-geodiversity and Pat.
